Neuschloss are an irregular coalition of teaching staff at Northumbria University who, through collaborative practice, explore the problem of what it is to make art within the context of an academic institution. The presentation was an opportunity to share recent research and outputs by the group. This included recent work that continued to engage with, and re-frame, the artwork Tattoo (1986/2013) by former Northumbria Fine Art lecturer David Dye (1945-2015); artworks and texts that were generated through a magical cleansing of the Northumbria University staff well-being centre; and texts and films generated through an engagement with the remnants of the LYC museum in Banks, Cumbria.
